Some useful tips for booking hotels online

  • Standard check-in and check-out times (usually 12 pm to 11 am) will be shown in the apps. You can look for early check-in or late check-out options if necessary.
  • Always go through the user ratings and reviews of the rooms before selecting one.
  • Most of the apps except a few like Oyo and Trivago shows the prices for rooms excluding the tax and service charges. So you can expect these additional sums in your bill.
  • The booking apps may show you the price for a basic room at a hotel without complimentary meals. If you need a better facility room or opt for food, check them before confirming your booking.
  • If you are looking for accommodation near a particular destination, sort the hotels according to the distance from that place to find the nearest one.
  • Renting an entire 2 BHK or 3 BHK house/villa/flat would be more convenient and cheaper than booking multiple rooms in a hotel if there are children and more members with you.
  • If you are planning a long stay, say one week or above, you may get an exclusive discount if you contact the hotel/room owner directly.
  • If you don’t have debit/credit cards or any means for online payment, you can look for an option to pay at the hotel. Several apps do provide this opportunity.
  • Check the cancellation and refund policies before confirming your booking or making the payments.
